Strategy workshop design & facilitation
Current.Works, the human-centred design consultancy founded by Phillippa Rose, asked Kath to be part of her core team to co-design and co-facilitate a full-day online interactive planning workshop for the Landscape Institute to help inspire and inform their next corporate strategy, 2023-2028.
Kath’s brief was to apply human-centred design tools and mindsets to co-design engaging online immersive activities and visuals to encourage participants to work together. With the aim for key stakeholders to discover challenges, opportunities and gaps in an innovative and open-minded format.
Prior to the workshop, Kath co-created the agenda for the day, co-delivered design coaching and facilitation guides for members of the Landscape Institute leadership team, so they could co-deliver the strategy workshop and learn design-thinking methods. She designed visually stimulating and engaging Miro boards (an online whiteboard platform) to support participants to think and explore their strategy using tools such as speculative futures, visioning and mapping.
On the day, Kath co-facilitated 50+ participants using online platforms such as Zoom breakout rooms and Miro to support and navigate a team of 12 to work together to reveal insights to inform the organisation’s new strategy.
After the workshop, the Current.Works core team synthesised all data and findings from the day and Kath designed a report. Additionally, Kath designed and created illustrations to visualise the findings from the day to empower the Landscape Institute to take their learnings from the session forward into their ways of working.
